There are so many baby gadgets and goodies on the market but these are the top 8 newborn must haves we used in the first 8 weeks of Dylan’s life.
If you’re a new mom-to-be and anything like me you’re probably overwhelmed by the amount of sh*t on the market for these tiny little humans! Like how could they need so much? Honestly, they don’t. My newborn necessities list is pretty simple. I found myself up in the middle of the night feeding Dylan and ordering things on Amazon. For someone who did some good research before the baby was here, I still made some newborn must haves amazon orders at 1am 😂
If there is one thing to buy on this list, it’s this book. This book totally changed everything for us especially when it comes to sleep. From schedules, to breastfeeding, to the science behind napping, to when to call the doctor about fevers. I’m telling you, this book has it all! I have learned so much from this book and it’s the reason Dylan started sleeping from 7:30pm to 7am early on (like 8 weeks)!
This is one of those newborn necessities that you might not have ever heard before but I swear you will thank yourself for installing a glass rinser before the baby gets here! I got mine on Amazon and self installed it. It is such a game changer for washing bottles!! I hooked mine up to the hot water and am able to rinse bottles with hot hot water, fast! It might be one of my all time favorite newborn must haves… just trust me!
Next on my baby must haves list is the Hatch sound machine. You could get any sound machine but we love the Hatch. This chair by Beaba is part of my newborn necessities and I didn’t even know I was going to need it so much! It is an adjustable rocker with an infant insert and straps. Dylan loved to take supervised naps in it and it was such a great hands free option when I needed to do dishes or fold laundry! I was SO SAD when Dylan grew out of this chair and it should be on your baby must haves Amazon list!
When I first started researching baby lotions and diaper rash ointments the one thing I kept seeing over and over again was to try and stay away from fragrance. Which makes sense, fragrance can be drying and seems unnecessary for little baby bodies. I did research and found Primally Pure. They have a baby oil with only 4 all-natural ingredients and a baby balm that can be used for eczema, diaper rash, momma’s sore nipples, you name it! It’s so healing I even find myself putting the balm on my lips. We live in Colorado and it’s DRY. This oil seemed to be the only thing to really moisturize Dylan’s little skin.I loved their baby oil and balm so much that I bought some products from their skincare line as well! Put these on your newborn baby needs checklist!
2 way zippered footies are the only footies I’ll put Dylan in. The convenience is just 10/10 and I find myself reaching for 2 way footies over all others! We love the Kyte Baby footies but Amazon has some affordable options as well. I promise, you wont be disappointed with 2 way zippered footies!
It’s not glamorous but it’s so needed. Add a booger sucker to your newborn baby needs checklist. Chances are your baby will have some snot that needs sucked and you’re going to want to be ready! We use the Frida Mom Sucker and love it, but we also have some of these “booger spoons” as I call them. We use both on a daily basis!
This might seem obvious but you’re going to need a good carseat and stroller! We opted for the Nuna Tavo Travel combo and couldn’t be happier!
